DENICE GRANT
Dr. Grant joined the Skagit Adventist Academy staff two years ago, working with the SAA choirs, and she comes back for a second year of taking care of the k-12 music program. Dr. Grant was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she began musical studies at the age of four. In 1973, her family moved to Portugal, where she had the opportunity to study at the Lisbon National Conservatory. After moving to Canada in 1975, she studied at Kingsway College (KC), taking lessons from Leslie Mackett, Carl Anderson and James Bingham. While at KC she took exams at the Toronto Royal Conservatory, passing grade 10 in piano and theory. She went on to pursue a BM in Voice and Piano performance at Walla Walla College, studying piano with Leonard Richter and voice with Dr. Marianne Scriven. She received an MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northern Illinois University, where she studied with acclaimed performer and teacher Donald Walker. Mrs. Grant recently graduated from the University of Washington with a Doctor of Musical Arts where she studied with Professor Craig Sheppard.

TAMI ROWE
Tami Rowe is a caring and insightful teacher that uses her eight years teaching at SAA to challenge her students to a strong academic standard. Tami has dedicated herself to using the best practices in teaching based on current research. Mrs. Rowe also has a zeal for students to have not just a head-knowledge of God but a heart-knowledge of God that leads them to a life lived passionately for Him.
Mrs. Rowe graduated from Walla Walla University with a BA in Business Administration. After ten years in the business field, she substituted in the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classrooms where she became hooked on teaching. She earned her Master of Arts in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix two years later. Mrs. Rowe has taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, Junior High, and now is teaching 5th and 6th Grades. Tami and her husband Scott have two sons who both attend SAA. Scott enjoys working with non-profit organizations as a CPA. Tami and Scott spend their spare time in various outdoor activities with their family.
