GETTING INVOLVEDThere are many volunteer opportunities to help with the music program at Skagit Adventist Academy. We need parents who are willing to join in singing in our choirs or in playing in our bands; we need drivers for tours and clinics, help with costumes for concert programs, help with refreshments, to name a few. If you would like to participate and help in any way, please contact Dr. Denice Grant.
THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC EDUCATIONDOES REWARD AND PUNISHMENT REALLY WORK OR WILL THEY EVENTUALLY BACKFIRE ON US AND OUR CHILDREN?
There is an on-going debate on whether motivating a child through rewards or punishments are effective. This educational model can cause more harm than good. Is there an alternative, a better way? What if we found a way to work together with our children, rather than against them?
