THEME It takes hands to build a school, but only hearts can build a family.
MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to nurture student relationships with God, create responsible citizens, and provide excellent academic opportunities.
PHILOSOPHY Skagit Adventist Academy is a school founded on the principles of Seventh-day Adventism. We rely on God’s Word, the Bible, to shape our activities and our curriculum. Our main objective is to help our students develop a solid Christian character while emphasizing strong academics. We believe that embracing Christian values and being given opportunities to make good choices molds strong Christian leaders for tomorrow.
A PLACE TO THRIVE
HISTORY Skagit Adventist Academy was founded in 1964. When the “Burlington School” began there were two teachers and ten students in two classrooms. At present, we have 15 teachers and more than 120 students. Our current facility is situated on eight acres and includes twelve classrooms, a science lab, a tiered music room, two computer labs, a gymnasium, and a mountain bike trail.
MUSIC PROGRAM At Skagit Adventist Academy we encourage our students to develop their musical talents and skill to their uttmost, and to put them at the service of God. We have a thriving exploratory music program from k-4, beginning band, intermediate band, and The Skagit Wind Ensemble. We also have a junior choir and a high school choir. Singers and instrumentalists are encouraged to form their own ensembles, and are given several coaching sessions by the music staff, along with opportunities to perform. Students interested in conducting are also given the chance to direct the choir or band. Our ensembles perform in concert twice a year, and the upper class ensembles tour once a year.
